This month was fun, restful, and so seemingly short. Packed with friends, football, and lots of good food, the month was exactly what my heart needed to refuel. Beginning with a quick trip to Union County for a football game with a whole crew of Snowbird family and ending with a long trip home to spend Thanksgiving with another crew of my favorite people.
The first week of November was a great one. I voted in a Presidential Election for the first time, spent time in class learning a ton about the Old Testament, and rolled into a big weekend with students. This final Fall Retreat brought with it sweet time with summer staff who we haven’t seen in a few months, which made for lots of laughter and fun. The next week, we rolled into some very enjoyable time with a few missionary families at camp, and I sent some super cute little kids down the zip line way more times than I ever could’ve counted.
Blue Ridge > Andrews > Charlotte > Concord > Harmony > Home
The next week turned into a couple little road trips, the first of which reunited some of my best friends. We ate tons of Mexican, took Mady to DQ for the first time ever, and laughed until all of us had sore sides and teary eyes. I think this sweet time of reminiscing is exactly the refreshment we all needed. That weekend turned into a spur of the moment road trip with a friend (her name is BP, but for some reason she thinks it is Brittany) to watch a high school football semi-final game. We spent some time with her best friend and her family in a place that reminded me a lot of back home. We headed back to Andrews on Sunday morning and enjoyed an evening home with our Red Oak family.
Andrews > Proctorville > Andrews Again
After another normal week of work and class, I hit the road to visit the family for Thanksgiving. It was a fun visit with all of them, full of sweet little memories I will hold onto forever. My brother killed his first deer on Monday, and I am not sure who was more excited: him, me, or my papaw.
We celebrated my 21st birthday a little early, and ate way too much food. The trip seemed way too short, and I headed home early Sunday morning. The last few days of November were relaxing, normal, and beautiful.
To sum it all up…
I thoroughly enjoyed all of November and am thanking the Lord for sweet time spent with friends and family. I got good rest and am excited for this next month of work before another trip to Proctorville for Christmas. I am very glad to call this little mountain town, Andrews, home. The Lord remains steadfast and faithful, and I remain His child.
